Soil Testing

As a new program in 2005, the Homer District is continuing to develop a Soil and Forage Testing Program for cooperators and landowners that will allow producers to test their soil fertility, forage quality and receive fertilizer application recommendations from the Cooperative Extension Service. The District will work with the Cooperator to collect the samples and mail them to the test lab.
Current fees are $18/sample (soils) which includes shipping costs
We are accepting sign-ups now and will be collecting samples on Mondays and Tuesdays.
In addition to forage analysis we do have on staff an inspector to certify Alaskan Grown weed free hey and straw.  For more information contact Sarah Eastin at sarah@homerswcd.org.
This program was modeled after the Palmer Soil and Water Conservation District’s Landowner Services program.

Not a cooperator yet? Sign up!
