Soil Testing

The Homer District is continuing to develop a Soil and Forage Testing Program for cooperators and landowners that will allow producers to test their soil fertility, forage quality and receive fertilizer application recommendations from the Cooperative Extension Service. The District will work with the Cooperator to collect the samples and mail them to the test lab.

Current fees are $30/sample (soils) which includes shipping costs.  Forage test cost $24.00

In addition to forage analysis we do have on staff an inspector to certify Alaskan Grown weed free hay and straw.  For more information contact Brian Maupin at brainmaupin@homerswcd.org or
